Benzema and Asensio Score for Los Blancos
Real Madrid kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 victory over Juventus at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on Saturday. Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio scored the goals for the Spanish giants.
Madrid controlled the match from the start, with Juventus struggling to create any clear chances. Benzema opened the scoring in the 18th minute, heading home a cross from Luka Modrić. Asensio doubled the lead in the 56th minute with a low shot into the bottom corner.
Juventus had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to convert. Gianluigi Buffon made a few good saves to keep the scoreline respectable, but Madrid was ultimately too strong for the Italian champions.
The victory was a good start for Real Madrid's new manager, Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach will be looking to lead Madrid to their first La Liga title since 2017.
