According to TravelTexas, the path of totality for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, will begin before 1:30 pm near Del Rio, Texas. The path will then trace a line northwest across the entire state, ending at approximately 2:49 pm.

This will be a rare opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse in the United States. The last time a total solar eclipse crossed the country was in 2017, and the next one won't occur until 2045.

For those hoping to catch a glimpse of the eclipse, NASA has created an interactive map that shows the path of totality as well as the times of the partial eclipse for various cities along the path.

The partial eclipse will begin at 12:23 pm and will reach its maximum at 1:54 pm. The total eclipse will begin at 1:30 pm and will end at 2:49 pm. The total eclipse will be visible for a maximum of 3 minutes and 50 seconds.

If you are planning to travel to Texas to view the eclipse, be sure to make your reservations early as accommodations and transportation will likely be in high demand.
